About Kelsey

Content Creator, Crystal Dealer, Trauma Survivor

I followed all the "right" steps: graduated college, got a good job as a graphic designer, married my teenage sweetheart, and even started a beauty and makeup channel on YouTube.

I was living a life full of hope and potential. That was until the summer of 2012 when I got a phone call from my husband letting me know he was going to end his life. At 24, I became a widow with absolutely no idea of how to move forward.

Trying to Heal

In the years to follow, I tried to make sense of what happened, regain my footing, and establish a new normal for my life. I put on a brave face, went to therapy, joined support groups, got a promotion, moved into a new home, pushed myself to have a social life, traveled, and eventually started dating again. While I managed to find moments of joy, I couldn't seem to escape or replace the emptiness I felt inside. I needed something new, different, and exciting. I had absolutely no idea what that something was.

It’s now 2014, and I’m attending my cousin's wedding in San Diego. Having spent the bulk of my life on the east coast, I instantly fell in love with the cool, calm, and collective vibes of Southern California. So much so that a year later, I packed my bags and moved to Los Angeles, CA.

Something that was hugely instrumental in helping me cope with grief was returning to a passion I once loved so deeply: makeup. While in Los Angeles, I worked as a makeup artist and esthetician. It was scary, exciting, difficult, and beautiful. I even returned to my passion for content creation and revamped my YouTube channel, though I struggled to be consistent and find meaningful content to create (I still do! lol).

While I worked on some really cool projects and met a lot of people, I was constantly overcome with fear. I compared myself to others and developed an unhealthy inner narrative telling myself I wasn't good enough and I didn't belong in spaces with other creatives and entrepreneurs. That limiting belief followed me for five years. As a result of my unaddressed fear, ongoing grief, and difficulties living in a new city, I searched for comfort in unhealthy relationships (both platonic and romantic) that only perpetuated my issues.

Inner Work

Journaling has long been a way for me to express and heal my deepest thoughts and fears. Yet it wasn't until I connected with crystals that I felt compelled to revisit my journal entries years later. That level of reflection opened me up to see the cycle of negativity that I was stuck in for way too long. I developed small rituals with crystals, candles, and herbs to help me remain aware of my areas for improvement and set clear intentions for the life I wanted to build.

This space is where I not only get to work with beautiful crystals, but also with beautiful people. I am passionate about sharing my story and key takeaways in life through content creation on my YouTube channel and Instagram account to show people that no matter what challenges come in life, we each possess the skills and abilities needed to forge a beautiful path forward—we simply need to adopt habits of reflection, self-awareness, and productivity in order to come out on the other side.
